Grammy winner Ben Williams, primarily known as a jazz bassist, and Sarah Vaughan Vocal Award recipient Syndee Winters, recognized for her lead roles in Broadway musicals, have combined forces to create an irresistible blend of disco, soul, and pop influences in their duo, *Butterfly Black*. Their debut LP, BLACKPOP, features 11 tracks that showcase their electrifying approach, evoking the sounds of iconic artists such as Rufus & Chaka Khan, Marvin & Tammi, Alex Isley, Silk Sonic, Solange, Prince, and Michael Jackson. The duo co-wrote and co-produced this special project, which evokes feelings of love, unity, and the celebration of community. Williams and Winters sought to fully showcase their passion for the legacy of great Black pop music, its rich cultural heritage, and its relevance today.
