Please welcome Chilli Beans. to the Black Screen Records roster. We’re excited to release the band’s two studio albums "Chilli Beans." (2022) and "Welcome to My Castle" (2023) on vinyl and CD outside of Japan on September 27th, 2024. Both LPs come on coloured vinyl and include a booklet with Japanese lyrics. The CD edition comes in a classic jewel case with booklet and OBI strip.
Chilli Beans. are a three-piece band from Japan, formed in 2019 by Moto (vocals), Maika (bass & vocals) and Lily (guitar & vocals). Their neo-garage style fuses indie rock with garage infused guitars and catchy melodies. Since 2019, the band has released 4 EPs and two albums on A.S.A.B. and played several nationwide headline tours in Japan.
Their August 2021 single "lemonade" topped Spotify’s Viral 50 (Japan) daily playlist, while the January 2023 single "rose feat. Vaundy" topped Billboard JAPAN’s Heatseekers Songs chart twice. Chilli Beans. are armed with an outstanding songwriting sense, a knack for killer choruses, and energetic live performances that unite the audience as one.
March 2022 saw the release of their second digital EP "Daydream" featuring the single "Tremolo" that was used in a commercial for Rosette’s Yumemiru Balm cosmetics product. Their second digital single "my boy", released on April 13 the same year, was selected as the opening theme song for the MBS drama "Motokare Retry".
On July 13, 2022, Chilli Beans. released their first full-length album "Chilli Beans." including the hit singles "lemonade", "andron", "Tremolo" and "School". The song "you n me" from the third EP "mixtape" was selected as the opening theme song to the TV Tokyo J-Drama series "Play It Cool, Guys".
Their second full-length album "Welcome to My Castle" was released on December 13th, 2024 and featured 13 songs, including the single "Raise" which was the ending song theme for the TV anime series "One Piece", as well as "I like you", the main song of the TV series "Toki wo Kakeruna, Koibito-tachi".
In February 2024, the band played a sold out show at Tokyo’s legendary venue Nippon Budokan (Capacity: 14.500) for the first time, for a special concert titled "Chilli Beans."
