Chihei Hatakeyama, a leading figure in Japan's ambient/drone music scene, has just announced a collaboration with jazz drummer Shun Ishiwaka! Since meeting on a radio program, the two have shared the stage together in live performances, but this is the first time they have released a new work together.

The album, entitled "Magnificent Little Dudes," will be released in two parts, Volume 1 in May 2024 and Volume 2 in the summer of the same year. The performance is based on the concept of "taking inspiration from the place, the day, the season, and the weather," and is recorded as an improvised performance without prior preparation.

The first single "M4" featured guest Japanese vocalist Hatis Noit.

This collaboration between three internationally active Japanese artists is sure to be the hot topic in Japan and abroad.
