Gaga has promised a return to pop with Mayhem, due in stores March 7 and described by the singer herself to Rolling Stone magazine this past January as "a transgressive journey through genres." "The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved," she said in a press release announcing Mayhem's release, likening the new record to "a shattered mirror. Even if you can’t put the pieces back together perfectly, you can create something beautiful and whole in its own new way.” We're excited to hear the whole thing, especially since Lady Gaga claims it was heavily influenced by industrial dance music. Which you can kinda hear on lead single "Abracadabra" but definitely don't hear on last year's syrupy Bruno Mars duet "Die With A Smile." So who knows what's coming.
