Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake tells a story filled with multiversal mishaps and misadventures, starring Fionna Campbell and her rambunctious feline companion Cake. Despite its high-concept premise, Fionna and Cake presents a more emotionally mature take on Adventure Time chaos, taking time to tell personal stories and ponder existential questions in between laugh-out-loud scenes filled with the series’ trademark sense of humor.

The music, similarly, firmly belongs in the Adventure Time canon, but presents an alternate take on familiar concepts: The strong-but-simple lyricism is still there, but everything’s been given a catchy, rebellious edge.
