When Audio Adrenaline released Bloom in 1996, they answered any critic with an album packed with driving grooves, infectious melodies, and killer guitar riffs, Bloom quickly became one of the defining Christian rock albums of the 1990s. From the moment the album opens with Secret, it's obvious the band had found it's footing. Tracks like I'm Not the King and Memoir showcase tight musicianship and a confident, riff-driven sound. Meanwhile, fan favorites such as Never Gonna Be as Big as Jesus, Good People, and Walk on Water deliver the kind of sing-along choruses that made the album so memorable and why we all love it to this day. Frontman Mark Stuart brings a powerful, unmistakable voice that perfectly matches the band's energetic rock sound. But a huge part of what makes Bloom stand out is the guitar work from original guitarist Barry Blair. His raw, catchy riffs drive the entire record, pushing the band into a more guitar-centered direction. Ironically, this would be Blair's final album with the band, making it a fitting-and impressive-swan song.
