Formed in San Diego, Monarch is a psychedelic rock band known for explosive live performances, rich synth textures, and a melodic, harmony-driven sound. Drawing from classic and modern psych, space rock, and progressive influences, the band has released two full-length albums - Two Isles (2016) and Beyond the Blue Sky (2019) - and has toured extensively throughout the US and Europe, including a 2023 run with Earthless.Their third studio album, MA3, is set for release on PFR Records. Threading synth-pop through the bones of their heavy psych sound, the record draws comparisons to Pond's sun-baked psych rock fused with Daft Punk's heavyweight synth production. It features a guest guitar solo from Earthless's Isaiah Mitchell on "Face to Face," with album artwork by photographer and creative director Dana Trippe, known for her work with Tame Impala, Angel Olsen, and Pond's Nick Allbrook.MA3 is available as a limited pressing of 200 on vinyl with full-color sleeve.
