Originally released on 25th September 2000, the album is a fan favourite of Mark's solo releases, and includes lead single 'What It Is', as well as tracks 'Sailing To Philadelphia' and 'The Last Laugh', and features vocal performances by James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze. Recorded in Nashville and produced by Knopfler and Chuck Ainlay, Sailing To Philadelphia reached the top of the album charts in Germany, Italy, Norway and Switzerland, number 4 in the UK official album charts, and is certified 2x platinum in Europe.
