Jon has created a diverse catalog of music beginning in 1999, with the ambient guitar opus No Solace In Sleep (Silber). Since then DeRosa has traversed many musical styles in his primary vehicle, Aarktica and released several albums of darkly orchestral chamber pop under his own name, as well as two countrypolitan folk albums as Pale Horse and Rider. We Will Find the Light finds DeRosa at an intersection of influences and experience, and perhaps sounding the most at ease he's ever been, blending his affinity for ambient guitar soundscapes and understated dark folk into a cohesive work, which moves seamlessly through both melancholia and optimism. Within these songs we hear the influences of Leonard Cohen, This Mortal Coil and Nick Cave intermingling with those of minimalist composers like Ingram Marshall and ambient artists like Juliana Barwick and Steve Roach.
