YoshimiO, previously known as Yoshimi P-We, is best known for her work as one of the founders and drummer in the Japanese rock band Boredoms, as leader, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist of the all-female group OOIOO, and as a member of supergroup Free Kitten alongside Sonic Youths Kim Gordon and Pussy Galores Julie Cafritz. She has worked as a session player and vocalist on The Flaminig Lips acclaimed album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots by, which the band named after her. YoshimiOs duo collaborator IzumikiYoshi is a regarded synthesist in the Japanese underground music community, having contributed synthesizer, sampler, and programmed midi instruments on Boredoms classics Vision Creation Newsun and Super Ê.
